Stirling is a small city with a big history, known for its historic attractions such as Stirling Castle and the National Wallce Monument, and for its important role in Scotland’s past, being the site of two famous battles – Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn. This is an area where armies, peoples and cultures collided.
Conveniently located roughly halfway between Edinburgh and Glasgow, Stirling is fortunate to be surrounded by pleasant countryside, which takes in much of the stunning Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. There are also plenty of lovely wee villages to explore, many of which have strong links to farming, making this part of Scotland a great place for a trip away.
Agritourism in Edinburgh & the Lothians is as diverse as the area itself. Beautiful wedding venues with accommodation for guests on site, water sports, wigwams and pumpkin picking, sit alongside cliff top cafés and accommodation which comprises some of the coolest conversions the country has to offer including buses, sleek and modern farm buildings, cottages and pods. Add in a few well stocked farm shops and a trip to the capital just got far-more intresting!
