These places are so close to the city you can leave it until the very last minute to plan a day trip from Edinburgh

I fancied a weekend in Fife and thought that a stay at Morton of Pitmilly or make it two nights and stay with Maggie & John at St Andrews Coach Houses, plus a visit to Ardross Farm Shop en-route would be lovely.

Some Perthshire ideas...Check out Gloagburn Farm Shop - family owned and run farm shop with a licensed cafe... a warm welcome and really fine food. Plus en-route to Perthshire or heading back to Edinburgh check out Loch Levens Larder - there is a lovely walk around the loch and a fine cafe

Now look at all these things to do on Tayside... a weekend isn't going to be enough!!

Have an action packed day with the family at Highland safaris. It really is more fun than you can shake a stick at. Then head to some truly stunning views over the beautiful loch Tay. You can truly put your feet up at the wonderful accommodation at Morenish Mews
