Hopetoun Clay Open Day
from Hopetoun House Preservation Trust of Hopetoun

To celebrate National Shooting Week which runs 25th May-2nd June Hopetoun Estate is inviting everyone to give shooting a go at their Clay Open Day on Sunday 2nd June.

The Clay Open Day is open to anyone who wants to try shooting clays for the first time. Clay shooting is the art of shooting special flying targets, known as clay pigeons or clay targets, with a shotgun. The sport has seen a huge increase in popularity after Britain’s gold medal success in the London Olympics 2012.

Hopetoun Clays have been operating clay shooting activities for almost three years and all shooting takes place in very heart of the Estate, less than a mile from Hopetoun House in South Queensferry. All participants will receive a full safety induction and beginner’s lesson including the shooting of 10 targets for £10 per person.

Hopetoun’s Clay Open Day takes place on the Estate off Abercorn Road between 10am and 3pm on Sunday 2nd June. The minimum age for participants is 10 years old and all under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To guarantee availability participants are encouraged to register their session in advance of the open day by emailing their contact details to hopetounclays@hopetoun.co.uk or calling the Estate Office on 0131 3311546. Spaces may also be available on the day itself but cannot be guaranteed.

For more information on what to expect visit www.hopetounclays.co.uk and watch the introductory video on clay shooting.
